It All Started with...
Hey there, fellow thrill-seekers and art enthusiasts!
Buckle up, 'cause I'm about to take you on a rollercoaster ride through my NFTNYC 2024 experience.
Picture this: little ol' me, getting picked for the biggest NFT shindig, getting totally lost in a New York downpour, and then just like a movie BAM! Seeing my artwork light up in Times Square!
I swear - every twist and turn was packed with laughs, a sprinkle of magic, and yeah, some seriously soggy sneakers. So, grab a snack, and let's dive into this crazy journey full of art, new buddies, and memories that'll stick with me forever!
a little push
So, there I was, chatting with @SuperAma - this artist I'm fangirling over and now call a friend - when she dropped this bomb:
"What are you waiting for Submit your Art to NFTNYC?!"
This event's a big deal in NFT land, but I was kinda iffy about it. Still, I thought, "Why not?" and tossed my hat in the ring.
Fast forward a month, BOOM! Holy guacamole I'm in! It was like hitting the domino that started this crazy chain reaction of cool connections and opportunities. When I spilled the beans on social media, the love that came pouring in was insane!
But wait, it gets better - my artwork didn't just get picked, it landed in the top 50 most-voted pieces! VIP Access, baby! Talk about pinch-me moments!
Now, getting to New York? That was a whole other can of worms. I was pretty much broke and jobless at the moment, so I had to get creative. I whipped up this flyer asking for some financial support to make this opportunity come to life, and plastered it everywhere.
With tickets in hand (thanks to another awesome friend), it was like the universe decided to high-five me! I set off on this wild journey from Venezuela to NYC.
It was like a game of hopscotch across countries - a road trip to Colombia, then three flights with more layovers than I care to count. But you know what? I didn't even care 'cause I got to hang with one of my besties during a layover.
Landing in New York, I got the message of a lifetime. My friends at the event were blowing up my phone with videos and pics of my art on those massive Times Square screens.
I felt like a rock star! It was totally spontaneous on their part, and I'm still pinching myself over it.
My NYC adventure kicked off with a bang! I crashed at my cousin's place in New Jersey, and even though our hangout time was shorter than we wanted, it was still epic to reconnect.
NFTNYC Day 1
Magical Meetings Day 2
Day two was pure magic. The sun came out to play, and I finally got to meet these amazing folks I'd been dying to connect with.
These are the kind of people that make you grateful just for knowing them, you know? We clicked instantly, vibing like we'd known each other forever.
We bounced around different talks, where some of my new pals absolutely killed it as speakers. Then we hit Times Square, and let me tell you, it's a whole different ballgame seeing it in person.
We capped off the night at this awesome Irish bar, toasting new friendships and future adventures. It was one of those perfect days you wish would never end
Last Day
The last day flew by like a dream. More cool talks, lots of eating and wandering, and tons of photos at the Artist Village. We checked out The Vessel (talk about Insta-worthy!), and then stumbled upon this hidden gem called Little Spain in a nearby mall. Sangrias, tapas, and non-stop laughter - it was heaven!
Saying goodbye was tough, but my heart was so full of joy and gratitude for all the connections we'd made.
Heading back to NJ, it hit me - I'd actually done it. I'd made it to NYC, met these incredible people, and saw my work up there in lights. It felt like the universe was giving me a big thumbs up, saying, "This is just the beginning for Killer Bunny, kid!"
It was showtime! NFTNYC Day 1, and it was straight out of a movie. Picture this: torrential rain, my GPS going haywire, and yours truly sprinting through the streets like a maniac. After a 35-minute rain marathon, I finally made it to the event, soaked but stoked.
The Artist Village was mind-blowing, with screens everywhere showcasing incredible art. And then, there it was - my piece, up there for everyone to see. It felt unreal like I was floating on cloud nine.
I finally met some online buddies in person. We hit up this rooftop side event nearby, and despite the rain, the view of NYC's skyline was killer. Oh, and did I mention free pizza and drinks? Score!
A Serendipitous Ending
So, there you have it, folks! My wild ride through NFTNYC and beyond. It was a whirlwind of art, friendship, and self-discovery that I'll never forget.

But wait, there's more! After all that NYC craziness, I treated myself to a little vacation with one of my soulmates.
We hadn't seen each other in eight years, so we had some serious catching up to do. We chilled by the sea, hung out at home, and just soaked in each other's company. It was the perfect cherry on top of this wild sundae of an adventure.
This trip? It totally flipped my world upside down in the best way possible. It changed how I see everything around me and showed me just what I'm capable of.
Now, I'm itching for more adventures, ready to explore every corner of this crazy, beautiful world.
